Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you visit or order from penshurstboutique.com. We are EJ Ventures, trading as Penshurst Boutique, Chamber of Commerce number 96432535, Almere, the Netherlands. We are the data controller.
What we collect
When you order: your name, delivery address, email address, phone number if you give one, and the details of your order. Payment card details go directly to our payment provider and never reach us.
When you browse: your IP address, device and browser type, and how you move through the site. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.
When you contact us: whatever you put in your message.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To fulfil your order — necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To answer your questions and handle returns — necessary to perform our contract, and our legitimate interest in running a shop properly.
- To keep records for tax and accounting — a legal obligation.
- To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
- To measure and improve our advertising — with your consent, given through the cookie banner.
Who we share it with
Only the parties that make the shop work: Shopify (our store platform), our payment providers, our supplier and shipping partners for delivering your order, our email provider, and analytics and advertising providers where you have consented. We never sell your data.
Some of these partners are outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice data is kept for seven years because tax law requires it. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email support@penshurstboutique.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK (ico.org.uk) or to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
